Test Post

On editOK, I’m a fuckwit. Four little letters. h t t p. Doh! Fakir, you’re a genius.

Having some problems with images. They work fine when they’re on this first page, but blogger breaks the links when it archives. I could understand it when I was using relative references, but I tried using absolute references and it still breaks them (www.silvershed.co.uk/files/picture.jpg gets changed ‘helpfully’ into www.silvershed.co.uk/archive/www.silvershed.co.uk/files/image.jpg).

Gah!

FFS, I’ve just used their own add image tool, and it’s still managed to break. Source = www.silvershed.co.uk/files/miriam_small.jpg, but it’s trying to display www.silvershed.co.uk/www.silvershed.co.uk/files/miriam_small.jpg!

There’s got to be a setting I’ve missed somewhere.

And on edit again – now none of these links work because we’ve changed how we do things.  But I’ve left this up anyway.

Pah! Call yourself a geek? It’s a trivial fix as any fule kno.

BTW, where have these ActiveX controls on your page come from? I get loads of warnings each time I change pages.

I suppose it probably is – no idea what though. I’ll have to beg you for a solution next week.

No idea about the ActiveX either – I don’t see it. Is anyone else getting this?

  3. fatfakir says:

D’Oh! Indeed! I’ve made that mistake myself a few times but as I use Notepad to do my website, it’s a bit easier to spot.

The ActiveX thing is probably caused by your Comments links upsetting the delicate settings of my home computer. I don’t get those messages at work but, of course, I can’t change my IE settings to determine the exact cause…

Hey, Fakir, I think I’ve worked out what it is. We’ve just set up our linux box (yes, I know I’m a geek) and it’s having problems with our skype ad.

    Maybe time to remove it…
